SEEDS: Plant. Root. Grow. Fruit.
Giving DuPage invites you to the 2018 DuPage Nonprofit Conference, Friday, September 21. The conference will be held at Bobak’s Signature Events, Woodridge from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
In past years, we have hosted workshops focused on one topic and wondered what would happen if we delivered training on many relevant nonprofit topics?
That thought led us to a first for our organization – a DuPage Nonprofit Conference. The conference theme is ‘ALL ABOUT THE SEEDS’because we believe offering seeds of empowerment is one role we play in our community.
Our hope is your organization will plant seeds of knowledge, allow them to take root and grow to bear fruit. We are proud to be a small part in your organization’s path to live up to its fullest potential.
“One of my favorite words is ‘potential’ because it carries promise for greatness to occur. When potential is realized, there is always a genesis or a planter of seeds, allowing for good things to take root and grow.” – Shefali Trivedi, Giving DuPage Executive Director
Joan Garry will deliver the keynote address at the conference on the ‘Key Attributes of Thriving Nonprofits’ to include insights on financial stability, diversified fundraising, the compelling elevator pitch and the single most important attribute of a healthy nonprofit organization.
Joan will also conduct a separate interactive 90-minute workshop on how your organization will learn to tell a great story. Interaction with attendees will lead to using that story in any pitch to build advocacy partners for your cause. We’ll provide the notepad and turn off your phone, because this is one session you don’t want to miss.
Having your brand both seen and heard online in a highly connected world can be a challenge for non-profit teams – especially smaller ones – but how do you get above the noise and stand out?
Learn from Dusty Holoubek, a marketing industry insider on how your organization can create brand awareness online and by design, and how to develop brand advocacy with your constituents.
Extra insider takeaways will include tips on tracking hashtag analytics in real time, and free resource pages on brand awareness and how to leverage your social network for fundraising.
There is nothing more anxiety-ridden for a nonprofit accounting department professional than the annual audit of your financial statements and grant compliance audit by an outside auditor! With this session, Ron will provide you with tips and techniques to lessen the stress and concerns your team experience with each audit. He’ll walk you through the new auditing standards and uniform guidance procedures that may result in audit findings and help you to identify common problems to avoid.
Ron has overseen hundreds of audits throughout his career. In fact, he specializes in assisting churches, religious organizations, trade associations, foundations, social services (homeless organizations, developmental disability centers, domestic violence shelters, and others), and private schools. This includes overseeing Single Audits, Government Auditing Standards audits, and State of Illinois year end reporting. He is a CPA and graduate of Olivet Nazarene University.
Arthur Zards founder of Lab Z, is also the executive director of TEDx Naperville. He has been breaking all the rules turning ordinary or boring events into impactful, memorable, and authentic experiences.
He will share his insights on the new “experiential economy” how it affects you, and share best practices and tools so you can leverage this new economy and turn your events into these unforgettable experiences.
Get ready to shake it up and see how you can infuse experience into even the smallest aspect of public touch points, interactions and events.
