The main role at Giving DuPage is to connect volunteers and donors with local volunteer opportunities and ways to give back. The most critical way we achieve this is by offering volunteer support through a FREE resource, the Volunteer Portal.
Since launching the latest version of the Volunteer Opportunity Portal, Giving DuPage has generated over 2,000+ volunteer referrals. The portal includes hundreds of local nonprofit organizations, promotes over 800 active volunteer & service engagement opportunities, in-kind donation requests as well as promotes upcoming nonprofit events & nonprofit jobs.
To access the Volunteer Opportunity Portal select the “Volunteer Search Portal” image on the upper right side of our website.
Once redirected to the Volunteer Opportunity Portal, volunteers (users) can see which organizations posted recently, as well as the Giving DuPage Twitter feed, where we actively tweet volunteer opportunities posted in the portal to over 1,800 followers.
Choose the ‘Volunteer’ navigation tab to search for the latest volunteer opportunities, in-kind donation requests & employment opportunities, or you can search the ‘Nonprofits’ tab to see if your organization is listed. Nonprofit organizations can also share volunteer photos or a video on the profile page.
The Volunteer Portal is a free resource that measures the effectiveness of recruiting new volunteers, promoting upcoming events and creates awareness for your organization!
The Volunteer Portal is a resource to be used by nonprofit organizations, community groups (i.e. Rotary service club) or government agencies (i.e. library or local city/town for their public events). Giving DuPage is supported in a public-private partnership with DuPage County. Therefore, the portal resource is not meant to be used by political/partisan organizations or for religious purposes.
