In 2015, Giving DuPage began its partnership with the Civic Leadership Academy (CLA) at Northern Illinois University as a way to introduce Giving DuPage Nonprofit Members to an accredited and nationally-recognized certificate program.

Giving DuPage Nonprofit Members have access to discounted course rates as a benefit of being a Giving DuPage partner. Courses are centered on professional development, organizational efficiency, and informed leadership.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Courses must have a minimum of 10 attendees, otherwise course will be rescheduled or canceled. Please register early, if you plan to attend. Attendees will be notified of cancellations as soon as possible by NIU staff.
  • Refund/Cancellation Policy – cancellation requests received at least 7 days prior to the course date will be entitled to 100% refund.
  • Discounted Course Rates apply to Giving DuPage members only & early bird rates apply when registering at least 13 days prior to course date – please see rate table below for current costs
  • the Webinar course fee is the same to all attendees and varies based on number of people registering within same organization

ABOUT CIVIC LEADERSHIP ACADEMY: CLALogo
The Civic Leadership Academy (CLA) was created in 2004 by the Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University as a leadership skills development program for elected and appointed leaders and managers in government and nonprofit agencies. Over 15 new workshops have been added to the program since its inception, and each workshop is designed to give participants new skills for personal effectiveness and growth in their professional/organizational roles working within local governmental and nonprofit agencies.
